St. Roch: Patron of Dogs and Dog Lovers

$50.00 $200.00

As a young man, St. Roch (b.1295) walked from France to Rome to help plague victims. In Rome, he caught the plague. He went into a forest to prepare himself for death. As he was praying, a dog came to him, a piece of bread in its mouth. Roch took the bread. The dog licked the plague wounds on Roch's leg, and they were healed. Roch ate the bread, and, brought back to wholeness by the dog's gifts, he and the dog returned to Rome, where they comforted the sick. The story shows both the bond between humans and dogs and the power of each to heal the other. This medal was carved at In the Company of Saints and cast in lead-free pewter. The halo around the dog's head is a testament to the fact that it was the dog who saved the saint... The piece can be used as a dog tag, to protect a dog, or as a charm, worn by a dog lover.

Care Information

Proper storage is crucial for maintaining the longevity and quality of your jewelry. We recommend storing each piece individually to prevent any potential rubbing, scratching, or tangling. Our provided pouches serve as an effective means to keep your jewelry separated and protected.

We don't recommend swimming, showering, working out or sleeping while wearing your Harvest Jewels. Keep your jewelry away from any liquids, creams and sprays, as they can be susceptible to damage from chemical elements present in perfume, hairspray, makeup, nail polish remover, body oils, sunscreen, and deodorant.

Gently cleanse your jewelry using a soft, non-abrasive, and lint-free cloth. In cases where additional cleaning is required, consider flash dipping your piece in this cleaner. We only suggest using this cleaner on gold filled and 14k gold pieces and we do not recommend using this method on any matte pieces. After use, rinse the jewelry with clean water and delicately pat it dry with a soft cloth.
